Logos

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more.

Julie Lee Physiotherapy

Julie approached me to create a logo for her new venture as she was leaving her practice and going out on her own. Her brief was simple, she wanted something that look professional but had a fun personality to it (if you ever meet Julie you will understand why)

With this brief being so open-ended I had a challenge on my hands. I started by digging deeper and finding out more about Julie and her hopes for her business. In doing this I discovered that beyond helping people, Julie had a passion for working with athletes as she was one herself. We had also looked through some logo examples and she seemed drawn to logos and logotypes that used one’s initials.

After that particular discussion, I knew we had to include an athlete in her logo. How? I wasn’t sure yet but over time and with a lot of back and forth the logo you see now was created. Julie Lee was the one to bring athletes back to ‘life’ so it was only fitting that out of JL came a running (wo)man.

In essence, Julie Lee Physiotherapy doesn’t just get you back on your feet but it gets you up and running again so that you can perform at your very best.

Astrid Krehan

Astrid Krehan is a Contemporary Photo Artist. (She is amazing astridkrehan.com if you want to check her out)

She wanted something simple that would work on her art. Naturally, my initial thought was to do an artist-style signature however she wanted something more unique that differentiated herself from other artists, after all her paintbrush is a camera.

After many discussion with Astrid we decided to try incorporate a camera into the design and after a lot of battling with the squareness of the camera I started to play with the lens and so the logo was born.

As with all artist their signatures mark their work and so I incorporated her initials in.

Her name is an optional item and when her work is displayed in a large format the logo will be used with her name however when it is used on a small scale her full name will be take out

Together I believe we came to something special, something that shows her brand and hints at what she does.

As a physio, you want to get people up and running out the door again. For this project we drew inspiration from Julie’s desire to not just heal her patients but to get athletes back to their full potential
